MEKKADAMPU: Mor Ignatius Noorono Youth Association (MINYA) under Mor Ignatius Noorono Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Simhasana Church, Mekkadampu is celebrating its silver jubilee on 4th December 2011. Diocesan Bishop H.G. Mor Diascorus Kuriakose Metropolitan and H.G. Dr. Mor Coorilos Geevarghese Metropolitan will bless the day with Their Grace’s presence. Seminar, youth conference, inauguration of SHLOMO unit, charity activities, honoring former presidents and secretaries of MINYA and Divine musical feast are some of the attractions of silver jubilee celebrations.
As part of the Silver jubilee celebrations of MINYA, a “proclamation rally” was conducted on 27 November 2011 from Malecruz Dayaro to Mekkadampu. Abbot of the Dayara and diocesan bishop H.G. Mor Diascorus Kuriakose metropolitan led the prayers at the tomb of Late Lamented Baseliose Paulose II Catholicos. After delivering the inaugural message His Grace flagged off the rally from Malecruz Dayaro. The rally consisting of patriarchal flag bearing vehicles passed through Kolenchery, Kadamttam, Valakam, Kadathy, Rackadu and reached Mekkadampu church. At church, Vicar and President of MINYA, Fr. Jisho Alunkal led the concluding prayer and blessed the participants of the rally. Fr. Jisho Alumkal, Shri. M.T. Roy & Shri. N.T. Paulose (Rally Captains) and Shri. Baby Mathew (Secretary, MINYA) led the rally which proclaimed the faith and might of “Sons of Antioch” in Mekkadampu
