“SUMOORO-2012” “Akhila malankara Gayaka Sangha Sangamam” on 19 May 2012 (Saturday at Mor Ignathiose Noorono Syrian Simhasana Church, Mekkadampu, Muvattupuzha.

Mekkadampu, Muvattupuzha: A one-day camp of choirs of Jacobite Syrian Christian Church is being held at Mekkadampu Mor Ignathiose Noorono Syrian Simhasana Church on 19 May 2012 (Saturday). The chief objective of the camp is to promote and spread the glory of traditional Syriac music in the worships of our church. His Beatitude Baseliose Thomas I Catholicose will inaugurate the camp. Metropolitans H.G. Mor Diaskorose Kuriakose, H.G. Mor Aphrem Mathews and H.G. Mor Osthatheos Issac will lead the camp.  Lectures on various nuances of Holy Syrian Church and Syriac music would be delivered by H.G. Aphrem Mathews, H.G. Osthatheose Issac, Very Rev. Dr. Kurian Kaniyamparambil Arch Cor-Episcopa and Very Rev. Dr. Adai Jacob Cor-Episcopa. A session of syriac music training by Rev Dn. C.U. Eldhose & MSOT seminary team and a talk on the proper application of sound technology in worships are also included in the camp.

Vicar of Mor Ignathiose Noorono Syrian Simhasana Church and Chairman of SUMOORO-2012 organizing committee Rev.Fr. Jisho Alumkal, Vice- Chairmen of the organizing committee Mr. V.O. Issac and Mr. M.T. Roy were present on the occasion.
